Hawer Quintero, a native of López de Micay in Cauca, is a multifaceted artist whose life and work reflect a deep connection to nature and an unwavering passion for creation. Beyond his talent for painting, Hawer is a master carpenter with a unique skill for designing and building sailboats that seem to carry the spirit of the ocean within them. His work is always guided by sustainability, creatively and thoughtfully repurposing materials. For Hawer, giving new life to objects is more than just recycling—it’s a way of returning beauty and meaning to the world, transforming the forgotten into something extraordinary.

Hawer’s dedication to his work is even more admirable when considering the physical challenges that affect the dexterity of his hands. Yet, his skill and sensitivity have found ways to adapt, making every piece and every brushstroke a testament to his strength and perseverance. With hands that tell stories and a heart full of determination, Hawer continues to create, inspire, and share his love for art and nature.

In his workshops, he teaches carpentry and painting to underprivileged children, instilling in them not only practical skills but also values of care and respect for the environment. His legacy is both artistic and human: an invitation to see the world with fresh eyes and to appreciate the possibility of giving second chances—whether to objects or to life itself.

As a collaborator with ALMAR, Hawer Quintero brings his passion for the oceans and his deep love for the Pacific into everything he does, reminding us of the importance of protecting what we love.

We partner with this talented artist to sell his works, supporting the valuable work he does for the community.
